Fragt mich nicht, ich weiß es doch auch nicht… Irgendwie bin ich hier rein gerutscht und nun soll ich einen PR-Text über mich selber schreiben. Schon wieder.
Dabei bin ich doch nur der stimpy, mache seit über 20 Jahren mein Ding und kann selber nicht so richtig sagen, wie es so weit kommen konnte… Als ich als Teenager in den 90ern begann, mit dem Fast Tracker II zu experimentieren und später im Keller meines besten Freundes Evosonic Radio zu hören, träumte ich von meiner großen Karriere als Techno-Musiker und DJ, doch daraus sollte noch lange Zeit nichts werden.

Als ich in den 00ern begann, auf dem Schweizer Webradio bigbeat.ch meine Show „HappyHappy JoyJoy“ zu hosten, tat ich das nur, weil es Evosonic Radio schon lange nicht mehr gab und mir Sendungen wie „Ohne Flax“ fehlten. Ich träumte davon, einmal gemeinsam mit Mike S. eine Sendung zu moderieren, doch daraus sollte noch lange Zeit nichts werden. Als ich 10 Jahre später eben jenen Mike, der heute Chris Maico Schmidt genannt werden möchte, anschrieb, um ein bisschen alten Merch abzustauben, ahnte ich nicht, was daraus werden sollte.

Als ich 2017 mein erstes Album „Two Point One“, eine Überarbeitung des Albums „Two Point Zero“ von Chris Maico Schmidt, auf Evosonic Records veröffentlichte, fühlte sich das an, wie ein Traum und ich rechnete weder damit, dass das jemanden interessieren könne, noch, dass ich das nochmal wiederholen würde. Und doch sitze ich 2018 wieder hier, schreibe schon den zweiten PR-Text über mich selbst und habe immer noch keine Ahnung, wie es so weit kommen konnte, oder wie man so einen Text richtig schreibt….

Don’t ask me, I don’t know either… Somehow I slipped in here and now I’m supposed to write a PR text about myself. Again.
But I’m just the stimpy one, doing my thing for more than 20 years and I can’t really say how it could come so far… When I started experimenting with the Fast Tracker II as a teenager in the 90s and later listening to Evosonic Radio in my best friend’s basement, I dreamed of my big career as a techno musician and DJ, but nothing should come of it for a long time.

When I started hosting my show „HappyHappy JoyJoy“ on the Swiss webradio bigbeat.ch in the 00s, I only did it because Evosonic Radio had long since ceased to exist and I was missing shows like „Ohne Flax“. I dreamed of hosting a show together with Mike S., but nothing came of it for a long time. When 10 years later I wrote to Mike, who today wants to be called Chris Maico Schmidt, to get some old merch, I had no idea what would become of it.

When I released my first album „Two Point One“, a reworking of Chris Maico Schmidt’s album „Two Point Zero“, on Evosonic Records in 2017, it felt like a dream and I didn’t expect anyone to care, nor did I expect to do it again. And yet, here I sit again in 2018, already writing the second PR text about myself and still have no idea how it could come so far, or how to write such a text properly….
